Its overall rating of 9.2 out of 10 reflects the Prius’s reliability, value retention and safety scores. A new Toyota Prius costs between $27,450 and $35,865 while a used version costs between $19,998 and $34,750. This hybrid car can seat up to 5 people and is EPA rated to deliver up to 57 miles per gallon in mixed city/highway driving.

Overview

The Toyota Sienna entered a new generation in 2021 with big changes. The most important is that all Sienna vans now come with a powerful and fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. Over the life of the Sienna, it will return a projected $14,000 in fuel savings to its owner compared to a Honda Odyssey. Toyota also includes two years of maintenance in the cost of the vehicle. The combination of these two factors makes its ownership cost best in class. We’ve driven the new and prior-generation Sienna, and they feel the same to us. The outgoing V6 was a smidge smoother, but the 243 horsepower hybrid engine in the Sienna performs its function without any drama. The current Sienna can still tow 3,500 pounds. It’s hard to deny the Sienna’s hybrid drivetrain makes this van unique within the minivan category. In addition to the hybrid engine there’s an available all-wheel-drive system, giving the Sienna all-weather confidence. No other van offers a green powertrain combined with all-wheel drive. The Pacifica makes you choose one or the other.  Shoppers will find the older Siennas were very reliable, and it was sold in large numbers so finding a good used one shouldn't be difficult.

We analyze data from over 12 million new and used vehicles in our Longest-Lasting Cars and 5-Year Depreciation Studies, combined with the NHTSA's Safety Ratings to give you an unbiased guide to the best vehicles in each segment.

After being evaluated, vehicles with the highest average scores earn a spot in the iSeeCars Best Car Rankings. (No final score is given to vehicles missing a score in any of the categories, but scores for other categories are still shown.)

Vehicles are scored in three categories:

Reliability | 33.3%

The reliability score represents an analysis of iSeeCars' proprietary research on the longest-lasting vehicles.

Value Retention | 33.3%

The value retention score is based on our data science team's statistical analysis and prediction of 5-year depreciation from MSRP to determine which cars hold their value best, using US Bureau of Labor Statistics data to adjust for inflation.

Safety | 33.3%

The safety score is calculated based on the last five years of crash test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and incorporates the latest Top Safety Pick information from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
