Honda CR-V vs. Subaru Outback

The Honda CR-V and the Subaru Outback, in their current iterations, sell for about the same price and provide identical factory warranties. The Outback, however, comes standard with all-wheel drive while the CR-V starts with standard front-wheel drive (all-wheel drive is optional) and offers more interior room and cargo space. The Outback has a smaller turning radius and quicker throttle response, making it feel lighter and more agile on the road. The Outback also has a higher tow rating, but only the CR-V has a hybrid powertrain option, delivering higher fuel efficiency than the Outback or standard CR-V.

The Outback is best known for its standard all-wheel drive, excellent utility, and all-weather capability. New models of the Outback average $36,354 and 3-year-old models average $25,939.
