2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI
The Golf GTI is the benchmark used to gauge every other hot hatch on the market. This loosely defined arena of vehicles has several manufacturers competing (usually on and off) to find the winning formula of performance, versatility and handling characteristics.The 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI continues to set the base standard for the category. Its larger engine, better handling and higher performance metrics are what set the GTI apart from the standard Golf models it is otherwise nearly identical to. Where the standard Golf offers sensible usability, a good daily drive and reasonable fuel economy, the GTI model brings a faster pace and a little more visual excitement to the field.
For the 2018 model year, the VW Golf GTI sees several changes. The first is the consolidation of trim points down to three, more horsepower and added standard features toe the top-level trims. The 2018 Golf GTI is otherwise the same as the 2017 model.
