HELLO Stiff steering on pontiac sunbird? - I just bought a 94 pontiac sunbird and had to replace the alternator. I fully charged the battery and started it up the next day. Well the steering was stiff both ways. What should I do? Also the blower fan for the cabin heater doesnt seem to work either. just bought a 94 pontiac sunbird and had to replace the alternator. The belt is snug, but I can double check it tomarrow. Would it matter if the alternator doesnt have the big bolt in the bottom right in? It is solid without it though, but it was near impossible to get it in.

Would you buy a 1988 Pontiac Sunbird for $500? - 154,000 miles slight ticking sound in engine exterior/interior in excellent condition. like new almost. new tires Automatic transmission tends to be sluggish when not warmed up. By sluggish I mean it sticks in gear until you get around 40 mph...but after a while runs great.. would anyone buy this car?

93 Pontiac Sunbird 3.1l v6 convirtable questions help please!? - Hi I recently bought a 93 pontiac sunbird as my first car as I am only 15 turning 16 tomorrow from an auction for only $300. It runs and drives but obviously needs work to go for that cheap. I've fixed alot of stuff on the car already minor problems to be honest door hinges, window motors small stuff like that and spent only around $50 so far. Here is a list of my problems I need to tackle before winter. 1.Now I have noticed that as it is getting colder the car takes 4-5 seconds to start holding the key on the start position is this normal or could my alternator or starter or something spark plugs etc be going out? -It is NOT the battery as I just bought a new one and had it tested at autozone works fine- 2.When I got the car I found out it had to be started with a screwdriver and did not come with keys. This is a problem cause I want to put 2 12" subwoofers and an amp in my trunk but I can't lock my doors with no key to get in how can I get a key -AT LEAST- for my doors so I can lock them and how much would it probly cost? 3.I'm wanting to upgrade my radio cause the RCA cables from the amplifier can't hook to the back of a stock radio. I'm looking for a aftermarket stereo under $90 where I can controll the fade and bass/treble, has rca plug ins, and has 4 channels but can't find any with all that stuff in one. 4.I'm only 15/16 and I don't know a lot about maintaining a car it can be fun but scary if you don't know what you are doing like me lol. I am just curious besides putting gas in it and changing the oil every 2-3 months what else do I need to do to maintain it especially before the winter time will I need a tune up and like a trans flush or anything or what cause I'm not sure on all of it. 5.Last but not least the car is leaking slight amounts of oil when running I'm just wondering when i take out the dipstick where should the oil be up to just so I know it has enough in it still so the engine don't seize or catch on fire or something lol. I know I just asked a LOT of questions but please help me out I'll give 5 stars and a great thank you to whoever can answer these 5 questions for me thank you SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you put in a shut off switch for a 1992 pontiac sunbird? making it a race car? - This is a race car we bought last fall everything has to remain stock they are telling us we have to put in a kill switch. We got the steering wheel off don`t know if we are headed in the right direction. We are thinking that we have to go through the key ignition and of course the battery.

Where is the starter on my 94 Pontiac Sunbird? - The guy I bought my car from said the starter was bad. Once it starts up, and you drive for a while and shut it down, you can't restart it till it cools down some, is it the starter?

I might buy a 94 (I think) Pontiac Sunbird for cheap, but it needs head work, what all should I replace? - I've got a friend with a 94 Pontiac Sunbird. it has what I believe to be "typical" head warping on it, but other than that it is a very celan car, good paint, good tires, clean interior...and when it was running the A/C was working...all pluses. I'm a mechanic by trade, but don't work on newer cars that often, and I've never had to work on cars with issues like this. I know I can go on eBay and buy a redone head for 200 bucks, but is that going to be any better than taking it to my local head shop and having them just resurface the original head? I imagine it would be cheaper and who's to say the one on eBay won't crap out on me just the same.. What do I need... pretty much the head and a new head gasket? anything else in the way I should have a go at? to keep it running? I'd love to hear why. yeah there is a company on evilbay that has reman heads for 200 dollars with new springs/guides/etc and have been resurfaced and pressure tested... I'm thinking that would be the best route, but just not sure. Thanks Aero. The Chilton manual is with the car and I do have a good torque wrench. I suppose maybe I'll see what it's like when i take the head off and see what the head shop says about it. I'll see what the timing belt looks like too, I imagine a new timing belt would cost a hell of a lot less than a grendaded engine if it decided to break on me after putting all this work into the engine.. Thanks for that answer.

93 Pontiac Sunbird Tranny Filter Replacement? - Anything I should know before I dig in to my buddy's car? I havent looked at it yet but the filter should have a few screws holding it on and I can buy a new gasket kit for 12 bucks. Is this right?

cheapest place to buy a TBI Carborator for 1990 Pontiac Sunbird 2.0L? - I priced one on autozone for about $554.00 with core, and Napa's about the same price also...I don't really wan't to but a junk yard one, but can't afford $500. for a new one either, I need to find one for about $300-350 roughly, the cheaper the better of course, so can anyone suggest to me where I can getone online somewhere thats sells wholesale parts, or something cheap...?
