The upcoming Corolla GR should provide a counter to the Civic Type R. Both the Civic and the Corolla are available in sedan and hatchback body styles, and both offer 4-cylinder power. Unlike the Civic, the Corolla is available with a hybrid powertrain that delivers 52 mpg in combined driving and is much more fuel-efficient. The Civic is slightly larger than the Corolla and offers more interior space and a larger trunk. Outward visibility is excellent for both cars, but the Corolla is a bit easier to get into and out as it sits higher than the Civic.
