Most auto insurance agents represent multiple insurance carriers but there are some who represent one insurance carrier exclusively. We recommend contacting auto insurance agents who work with at least two insurance carriers so that you would get and compare multiple auto insurance quotes. Keep in mind though, there are some insurance carriers like GEICO and Progressive Direct that do not go through an insurance agent but sell directly to consumers.
