HELLO I miss my '94 Volvo 940, thinking bout buying another.? - I got in a car accident a few weeks ago and my white 1994 Volvo 940 was totaled. The whole front right side was bent. We were unijured of course. I had that volvo since I was in COLLEGE, and before then my parents had it. We had been through a lot together. When it was towed away :tear: it had registered 316,000 MILES on it. A FEW minor problems, mostly caused by me when I was in college because I was not servicing it correctly. So what's the point? Well I am looking at buying another '94 Volvo 940 OR a '01/'02 Volvo S40. What does everyone think? I don't want a crap car, and my heart is with Volvo 940. I am sure my mind is made up, but would love others opinion on the matter. BTW, I could have any car I want, $40K+ BMW, Benz etc...but I value money and I think it's hot when people with money drive old cars, it tells a lot about their character. I hate seeing people driving expensive cars who still live at home with their parents. But thats a completely different discussion

Would you recommend buying a 1995 Volvo 940 GL? - If so, please tell me what your experience has been like - the pros and cons of this model. The person who is selling the Volvo is my Volvo mechanic's brother. So he has had *expert* care and attention paid to it, which is a huge consideration. It has 140,000 miles on it, which isn't bad for a 13-year-old Volvo. It's never been in an accident. And he's asking less than BlueBook. My QUESTION is, which I see I didn't articulate well enough the first time around, is: have you owned/driven one of these Volvos? I'd like to hear from someone who can offer first-person experience. thanks! My mechanic works *only* on Volvos, so he's incredibly knowledgeable. He not only has lots of parts on hand from old Volvos he has around, but knows what parts need to be new, Volvo parts and which can be after-market parts, sometimes non-Volvo. That saves me $$ on the work he does on my current Volvo. My current Volvo has some quirks with the air conditioning and the electrical system. So, I'm wondering what questions to ask the owner when I see him next week. That's why I'm wondering what kinds of experiences others have had with this model Volvo. It's not the Turbo, by the way.

Question about a 93 volvo 940 sale? - i am considering buying a volvo 940 off the internet, the milage is good and everything else is good, but the only thing is that it is missing the left blinker light. the picture just shows a hole where the blinker light should be. where can i get a replacement blinker for this volvo? and how or where can i assemle this? please any answer will be greatly appreciated.

1993 Volvo 940 (non-turbo), just bought, has a rough idle, revs up and down between 750 and 1000 rpms? - Besides a vacuum leak, what could be the causes, should I take it to a dealer for a tune up and hope that it works? Could it be the timing belt? Anyone experience anything similar??

Is a 1995 Volvo 940 a good vehicle, or should I keep looking? - Recently I crashed my truck and I need a new car for cheap. A teacher at my school is offering my a 1995 Volvo 940 for 750 dollars. The only issue with the car is that is needs new brakes. The reason that the price is reduced so radically is because they believe that it would not sell for higher as their son, (the previous owner) ripped off the upholstry and padding in the cieling. This is a relatively easy fix. Is it worth it to buy this vehicle?

Volvo 1994 940 or Newer S60 Model? - I had a '94 Volvo 940 for 13 years, recently got into a wreck and now looking to purchase another car. I am considering either buying another '94 Volvo because I really loved that car and it had over 300K miles on it with very minor issues. I am also looking at the 2001 - 2004 range of S60 but I wanted to know the overall difference. I know volvo quality has gone down since Ford purchased it, and one thing I liked about my Volvo was that it was METAL. None of that fiber glass, or whatever it is stuff. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

What is the stick coming out of my wheel hub on my 91' Volvo 940 GLE? - So I want to buy new rims for my car except there is a stick of some sort coming out of my hub that goes through my rim in between two of the lug nuts. Does anyone know what this is? I don't want to buy new rims and then have to either cut this off or drill a whole through a new rim.

Will a Volvo 940 Haynes manual cover any or all of a 960 petrol turbo of the same year 1991? - I have just bought a 1991 960 petrol turbo estate and there are no handbooks or manuals listed on Ebay ( the one with the car has been wet and tears when it is opened)
