HELLO Any Known Problems For A 1990 Volvo 760 GLE? - I am looking at buying a 1990 Volvo 760 GLE 2.8L V6 naturally aspirated. It is in very good condition - No rust any were or any mechanical faults. Just wondering is there any common problems these vehicles suffer from? As Im looking into buying one as my Third vehicle. Cheers

We bought a used 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo six months ago an the alternator just burned out. When our mechanic? - took it off, he noticed that oil was leaking out of it, causing the alternator to burn out. They have given me the choice of doing nothing or going into the engine and trying to find out what the problem is. However, I only spent $2500 on the car. What do you think is the best option at this point?

How would I find out the oil capacity for a 1988 Volvo 760 GLE Turbo without the manual? We bought it used? - for my daughter and I'm changing the oil for the first time. I've tried searching the internet but can't find any answers. Thanks!!!

No Turbo boost on 86 Volvo 760 Turbo Please Help!? - I bought my 86 760 turbo with a bad turbo. Guy said it was boosting fine then nothing. Took turbo off it was garbage. I just put a good turbo on, but still no boost. The vacuum comes up to around 0 but there is no boost at all. I checked all vacuum lines and there are no leaks. Wastegate seems to function properly also. Car doesnt have much power with no turbo boost. There is no smoke but I do see exhaust coming out. After I let go of the gas from revving it (with the car in park) it will backfire a little bit like it has too much gas. Any ideas, maybe clogged cat? If its a clogged cat can I just go catless just to see if it boosts? Any ideas helpful, thanks!

88 volvo 760 2.3turbo, turns off whent it wants to??? what could be wrong? - I just rebuild the head on this car and everything is ok mechanically that is because it turns off sometimes usually right after i get of the freeway, when i try to start it up it turns on but turns right back of it does this atleast 4-5times waiting 3-4 minutes everytime i dont want to kill the battery. I bought a new coil, starter, distributor-cap-rotter, spark plugs-cables and altenator is good. do u guys have any idea what could be doing this?

Need A Code For Dolby System Volvo Sr - 7145 radio.? - I recently replaced the battery in my '89 Volvo 760 turbo intercooler and since then the sound system wont work. When i turn it on it asks for a code. I bought my car used about 3 years ago only had this problem when i switched the battery because i am assuming there is some sort of anti-theft system built into the radio (because it is detachable) any help would be GREATLY appreciated. why is my volvo running so rough? - it is a 1989 760 turbo intercooler 2.3 4-speed auto. It will not idle properly but when you run it around town it is fine,smooth and powerful. If you take it out on the motorway it will be ok for speeds up to 55(lumpy going uphill) if you push it over 70 it is ok, but between 55 and 70 it is rough and sort of misses without backfiring. Also a cloud of black smoke comes out of the exhaust. If you kick it down to 3rd it will go like a rocket and not miss at all!! It has been seen by the RAC and been in the garage and they say everything is working, but can't check the air flowmeter as it would cost too much to buy one and it works fine. Please help it is driving me mad not knowing what it is. I love this car but i'm running out of patience.
