Buying or leasing a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit? - I want to get rid of my 2007 Ford F-150 Crewcab, 4x4, long bed. The gas is killing me. Great truck- but I'm basically making two car payments a month for it. One for the actual truck and one just for gas. I've been looking into a lot of compact cars (the 5, Yaris, Fit, SX4 Sport) and I have to say, I'm impressed with the looks and specs of the VW Rabbit. I'm going for a test drive this Tuesday. I would just like some advice from VW owners, previous VW owners and car fans in general? Should I buy or lease? Also, I'm pretty set on the 4 door and I would love to get a manual (way more fun than an automatic- you feel like you're part of the car). Any other suggestions on what packages I should get for the Rabbit?

Why is my Volkswagen Rabbit dying? - We just bought a 79 Volkswagen Rabbit Fuel Injection C. Theres something going on that really baffles us! At the weirdest times the car just dies and then is very hard to turn back on. It's alternator is fine so we're thinking its electrical. The weirdest part is that the problem seems to be weight related! As in, the problem happens more often with more people in the car, and goes away when the heavier people are seated in back. What is going on? (It idles a bit high by the way)

Buying a new car,Ive been looking at the volkswagen rabbit 2 door and the volkswagen jetta sedan. And after a? - few emails the dealership offered me the rabbit for 14,445 and the jetta for 16,443. About two hours later I walked into the same dealer that I had been emailing. Didnt let them know that I spoke with them already and made it seem like I was a whole different person. The sales guy asked me if I was going to leave the lot today with a car. I said if the price is right. Well we went to go see the rabbit and he offered it to me for 16700. He went back checked my credit score and offered me a 6.6% financing, great, now he asked what my budget was I said 250-270 a month with 1500 down. He offered me 296 a month for 6 yrs! i almost laughed in his faced. Obviously i diened, i left to work and he offered me over the phone 250 a month with no down payment. But now im thinking if I should print out the emails and show him what they offered me a better price on the rabbit and the jetta. I might as well upgrade to a jetta? Do you think i should leave the dealer w/out the jetta?

Would a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit be a good first car? - I'm looking to buy my first car and the 2 door VW Rabbit has caught my attention. Would this be a good desicion? It has a lot of power for such a small car, fairly decent gas mileage, and looks like it would be easy to drive. What I don't really know is how well made they are, how reliable, and how costly is maintanence/repairs.

louvers for a Volkswagen rabbit? - bought a scrap 1983 Volkswagen rabbit. it has louver's for the back window. it is metal. just wondering if anyone has heard of such a thing. from what i have looks up it seems to be extremely rare.

are there any MODS to make an '09 VOLKSWAGEN RABBIT a lot FASTER???? - thinking of buying an 09 rabbit. but before i buy i want to make sure that i have options as to increasing power. any suggestions???? and please dont tell me to save my money for an EVO or a WRX STI beacuse i dont have that kind of money for a $35000 dollar car. thats why im buying a $16,000 dollar car haha.

Can somebody recommend an American made vehicle comparable to the Volkswagen Rabbit/ Golf ? - What I am really interested in is handling, driving experience, affordability (around the $15,000 price range or less). I would like a newer vehicle if not new. This will be the first new or near new vehicle I've ever purchased. I have read ALOT about how the newer Golf / Rabbit's are created with the driver in mind, the great gas mileage, the fun factor of driving them, the quietness of the ride and the superb handling. These, along with the styling, are the main reasons I'm interested in this type of car. But, I want to buy American (please no Japanese suggestions)! I want a small to mid-size with a sturdy safe feel, good on gas, and basically similar to the Golf or new Rabbit, but American? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!! If you buy Japanese, you are un-American in my opinion. So many parts of American cars are made overseas, so what? I want my money going to an American company, as they employ over 10x that of your Japanese companies in America. I'm not for handing my economy over to another country, even if our lawmakers and you are! Don't worry, I know there are no "truely all American cars anymore". No need for explaining. I still will not buy Japanese, even if it's more "American" than an American faceplate car.
