HELLO I was just wondering if buying a 1995 Volkswagen Golf GL 4 door with 240000 km on it was reasonable? - It's selling for like 2900 CDN but i can probably bargain it down a bit and i have to pay taxes on that but like i was just wondering if volkswagens will run good at 200k+ mileage and even if it will survive through the 300k mark

I am buying a 1988 Volkswagen Golf and it's been sitting over the winter. I need some tune up tips.? - It's an 88 VW Golf 1.8 5 speed manual, and it has been sitting over the winter. Perfect car for me getting ready to go to a community college. I was just wondering what I should definitely need and probably should do to give it an ideal tune-up to get it running smoothly. New spark plugs, tires, oil change? That kind of stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a Volkswagen Golf 2.0L, can you please give me information about the car? - The car has 80k miles and it runs with normal gasoline; year 2002. I am confused because the car doesn't specify if it is a GL, GLS, GTI, TDI or what ever. It is a five speed manual transmission with a 2.0L motor. It's also a four doors with no power windows (You have to use the rollers to get the windows down!). Please give me information or warnings about the car. If you had one, tell me about your experiences.

I'm thinking of buying a 1996 Volkswagen Golf GL. I need input!? - It's a 96 volkswagen golf gl. It has 110xxx on it, and everything works fine. I discussed a lot of cars with some of my car friends. 2 of them said get a honda for sure because when they break you can fix it yourself. stay away from european cars. another one (has owned and worked in an auto shop for 8 years) said stay away from older hondas because you'll have to fix them often, so he would go with a VW because they are more expensive to fix, but break less often. I don't know what to do! I do need a new car though because mine was totaled by an asshole on the freeway.
