HELLO I am probably buying a Volkswagen GTI today, as my only car.? - I am probably going to buy a GTI today. It will be my only vehicle.? For practicality are the 17" tires and wheels going to be better due to potholes, speed bumps(more protection for the rims due to more sidewall), snow, rain, fuel economy... Also will finance rates be any better soon on the Volkswagen GTI? Thank you. is there much difference as far as protecting the wheel and suspension, and front end or rear end mechanisms between the 40 vs the 45 series tires?

1989 Volkswagen GTI, What kind of upgrades Can/Should I do? - I am thinking about buying a 1989 Volkswagen GTI. I am a volkswagen fan, and I really like the looks of the older GTI's. I would also Like to spend a few dollars on some performance parts ( I am not looking to spend thousands and thousands of dollars, as I am not looking to build a race car.) I am just wondering what kind of parts are available, as well as what upgrades would be good investments to make it more fun to drive. Any suggestions?
