HELLO Should I buy this 1991 Volkswagen Cabriolet? - I am looking for a car, I recently sold my 1987 Tercel. I found this Volkswagen Cabriolet 1991. I am torn on what to do. The cost is 5000, the muffler, brakepads, oil filter have been replaced by the dealership (Cowell VW in Richmond). There was also a tie rod replaced and a seal inspection. I do not know how to drive a standard transmission but if someone can confirm that VW's are reliable and will last me a while (for those in the Vancouver area, I live near South Granville and will be going to Capilano College daily) I may consider buying it. Another problem is that I am a student in highschool. I did not make enough money to aircare my last car. I want to buy this one and can afford it by financing it for 83.25 a month, and then paying the rest in the summer where I hopefully can work up to 30 hours a week. If anyone can offer me any insight on this, it would be amazing.

I bought my wife a 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet Convertible as a summer car and I am having problems with it? - The car is a gem and runs great. The previous owner had a high end alarm system installed in the vehicle. The problem with the car is it starts great. You start to run errands with it and after a couple times of stop and start, the vehicle just won't start. We have been to a number of garages for the problem and they have not been able to figure it out. I have changed the battery. It has a different type of oil filter, something to do with pressure (I really don't understand it). If you leave the vehicle sit for 30 minutes and do nothing it will start again, or if you boost it with another car or charger pack. The previous mechanics can't seem to find anything wrong with the electrical system. Does anyone have any ideas that may help? Thank you.

is buying this car a mistake? - it's a 1986 Volkswagen Cabriolet. the seller is asking for around $2000 or OBO.. it has 81K+ miles. she says it runs great. i am going out to see the car tomorrow. i think the asking price is too much.. what are some good things to say when negotiating a lower price?.. if the car has any major problems do u think it will be difficult to find parts and hard for mechanics to work on?.. thank you for your help

Does the Mazda CX-7 HAVE to use premium fuel, or is it just recommended? - Want to buy this car, but afraid of the premium fuel costs. My next door neighbor has a Lincoln Town Car executive. The owners manual for him said he needs to use premium, he doesn't, and it lasted 9 years so far, a lot for a Lincoln! Another friend of mine has a Volkswagen Beetle cabriolet which also requires premium, but they don't fill it up. If it does require premium, is there a problem with me putting regular in the car? What is it? Thanks.

Trouble with Volkswagen..? Help?!? - Have a VW Cabriolet. Just bought it. It's a '92. 5 speed. I started smelling something odd while driving, smoke coming out exhaust, opened hood and smoke coming out a hole with a green ring around it and a plug that wasn't in it. Is it blown or something? I know smoke coming out the exhaust is BAD.
