HELLO considering buying a toyota tacoma but I have seen 2wd with off road package. What does this mean? ? - It snows in the winter and I am not sure how a 2WD can have an off road package and not be a 4x4. I do prefer 4x4 I have an old Jeep Laredo that 4wheels in the snow great but how will this compare?

What is the best stratedgy for a first timer on buying a new Toyota Tacoma at the dealership? - I have good credit and a job. I am just not great at wheeling and dealing in other words I couldn't sell Gold for free. So how do I not get swindled when buying a new vehicle especially at the dealership? Doesn't the consumer have the upper hand at this point economically and how do I use it?

Whats your opinion about buying a new toyota tacoma 4x2 vs buying a 4x4? - I live in northeastern Massachusetts and have been debating whether four wheel drive is worth the extra money? I have a 1988 Nissan 4x4 truck. I only use the four wheel drive in the winter. I have been considering the extra weight, maintenance and costs against the benefits. I know when we have snows i would feel safer with four wheel drive. There is about a $4000 difference between the 4x4 vs the 4x2. I have also been thinking about how it might effect it's resale value even if i plan on keeping it a long time ( maybe keep it as long as i've had my 1988 Nissan truck). We have a lot of salt up here and the frame has serious rot, so i can't keep my Nissan truck. I have really loved the truck and wish i could keep driving it! I think i'm going to donate it to the cancer society. Don't they put an undercoat at the factor on new vehicles? when i buy the new Tacoma i was going to skip the offer if asked.

Buying an older Toyota Tacoma truck, a little help needed!? - The idea of owning a truck has finally crossed my mind and stayed. But, I really hate large, extended cab, gas-guzzling, un-needed trucks that really don't serve a purpose unless you work construction or something. So, i've lead myself toward an older model 1997-2004 Toyota Tacoma, one that's a two-seater and small. Can someone shed some light on this possible purchase- is it a good sturdy vehicle and such? Which was the last year that the Toyota Tacoma was made in Japan? - I want to buy a Toyota Tacoma but was looking at the 2009 models and they are assembled in Tijuana ,Mexico. I know Toyota is still a high quality vehicle even though this is the case, but I would rather get a slightly older model that was made in JAPAN- Transmission and Engine Which was the last model year where the Truck was made/ assembled in Japan? Thanks. The sticker on the 2009 models say 35% parts from Japan but none are for the Engine or Transmission. Those parts state made in USA.

can you put your own head unit in a toyota tacoma? - ive ben lookin at buying a toyota tacoma and im gonna put subs in it i also wanna replace the headunit and put in a flip screen. looking at them it doesnt look like you can take out that whole head unit... any one know?

Is the 6 cylinder toyota tacoma engine more reliable than the 4? - I'm interested in buying a toyota tacoma, probably a 97 or 98. I don't need the 6 cylinder because I won't be doing any heavy hauling with it. Plus the gas mileage is worse obviously. But is it more reliable than the 4? Even just for daily driving? thanks
