Will I need a wiring harness for a Pioneer head unit going into a new Scion xD? - I'm buying a new Scion xD this week, and it comes with a Pioneer head unit. I can upgrade to the premium unit - another Pioneer. I already have a very nice Pioneer I'll be installing in it - will I need a wiring harness? Or will the connector in the dash of the Scion xD plug right into my head unit? You'd think with the same manufacturer it'd be a direct connect... but...?

can the pioneer stereo on the scion xd use the shuffle function on an ipod? - i recently bought a 2010 scion xd and the stereo has an integrated ipod usb connection. It works and sounds great, but i was wondering if there was a way to use the shuffle function of the ipod? I messed around with it but was unable to find a way to get to the shuffle function. any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wyatt

Should I buy a Scion xD? - I'm in need of a new car, sadly. I fell in love with my old car which was an '87 Ford Taurus that was previously owned by my great-aunt & I inherited. The wear & tear have started to show in the last year or so, making it an eyesore to look at & a hazard to drive. (It's in the shop at *least* twice a year, costing at average $150 per visit not including regular maintenance.) A friend of mine took me car shopping & I really liked the Scion xD. It's cute, sporty, and within my price range. I'm not all that concerned with how much the car's worth goes down b/c any car I get, I'm planning on having it for years (like 5-10 years). I am concerned with the car's maintenance, as well as how likely it is to be broken into or stolen. I know that Toyota has the "for life" guarantee thingy, but I want to know how often it breaks down, ect. Is it frequently broken into and/or stolen? I'm not going into the hood or anything, but I do work in a semi-big city. The model I'm looking at is the '09 version of the xD. It'll be my first real car that I'm buying, so I'm planning on buying new.

Scion xD worth it? Price? - I want to buy a Scion xD and the dealership is telling me its about 17k without paying for fees such as liscence registration. The website says 16k... am I missing something here? Scion xD's are suppose to be pure price, right? Also, can they really get 30-40 MPG like alot of vehicle owners say? Are they good cars to buy?

Scion xD girly? What do you think? - I am looking for an affordable car which gets pretty good gas mileage and is not a sedan. I had a sedan but when I went on a trip with my family, it didn't have enough space to hold everything we needed for the trip. And I found scion xD which is a small van so it'll hold things that we need. (we don't have that much stuff, so we don't need a SUV.) Also I wanted to have a navigation system installed in the car (not like like a TomTom which you put in afterwards. I want it installed in the car.) But the other day, one of my friends told me that xD is girly. And since then, this keeps me from buying xD.....I mean I could go for Jeep Patriot too which is a little more expensive and gets a worse gas mileage but pretty manly. What should I do?

Must I buy larger tires if I get 18" rims for a 2008 Scion xD? - Toyota sells a 16" alloy rim to replace the stock steel rims with plastic covers. The literature says that the 16" alloys can be used with the factory tires. OK. Now, they also sell 18" rims (much more $). If I got the 18" rims, must I get different tires than the ones that come with the car? (I don't want to do this.) If I went elsewhere and got nicer 16" wheels, how do I find out the complete size of the wheels that I need (how do I know they'll fit the Scion xD?) Thank you! Also, can anyone recommend a good place online to buy wheels? TireRack doesn't show the 2008 Scion in their search, so it's tough to know what will fit. Thanks!
