HELLO I'm thinking about buying a Porsche 944 Turbo? - I have about $4,000 and I'm working on growing that sum to something larger. I've read that the timing belt has to be changed every few years and that I'm going to have to maintain the car since it's from the '80s, but other than that I'd love to get this car. I've heard that this car's value is as low as it will be and will soon become a classic. I also discovered that it was made out of Audi/VW parts. Can I use Audi/VW parts on this car to reduce the costs of buying Porsche parts? Is this a good idea? Thanks.

Looking to buy a Porsche 944 Turbo? - I am 18 years old and am looking to spend anywhere from $8-13k on a 1986-1989 Porsche 944 Turbo with about 50-70k miles. And I have a few questions... Are these reliable cars? How much would insurance be? How much would maintenance be yearly/monthly? Are there alot of known problems with them? When buying, should I buy from someone who has maitenence on file? And lastly is it a plus (or does it even matter) to buy from someone who is a Porsche club member?

Buying a 1989 Porsche 944? - There are may names for the '89 944. Can someone explon which name to go by when looking at cars or parts? Sorry about spelling, typing on iPod touch. I am for sure getting an '89 model. I think I will be getting the Turbo as well.
