HELLO pontiac 6000 part? - 89 pontiac 6000 4 cyl. 2.5 liter -- i bought this car used and i assume that the plug in heater that is connected directly to the block was put in at the factory. i took the one bolt out that holds it, in hopes of replacing it, well i must of not put it in all the way so now all the coolant drained out and i cant seem to find out what size bolt it is. all i want to do is seal that bolt hole so that my car may be operational again

Low MPG on '88 Pontiac 6000 L4 - what is it? - I bought an old '88 Pontiac for cheap a while ago, but it has some problems. I've replaced the following: - Engine Computer - Oxygen Sensor - Fuel Filter - Air Filter - Fuel lines and Sending unit - Spark Plugs and some other none fuel related items. I thought I had everything fixed, but then I checked the MPG and realized I am getting around 15MPG! ouch. I can't really afford to take it in, so I need to get it fixed. It has a L4 engine with a Throttle Body. I took it apart the other night to see if it was dirty, and I noticed that the EGR valve was pretty filthy inside - looked like it had soot in it (see http://images.wrenchead.com/smartpages/partinfo_resize/DUS/214-5513.jpg) . Should I replace it or just clean it out? The throttle body looks pretty spotless - any ideas what my problem might be? Also, the Throttle body has a bunch of rubbery hoses coming from it going to various lines - a couple of them broke, and I have no idea how to find replacements. No duh it's not all about the engine - but I've already checked all the simple things, so naturally, looking toward the engine seems logical. Don't come answer questions with unhelpful answers - as for being a leadfoot, the car can barely move out of it's own way, trust me, I don't gun it. And that wouldn't account for a loss of 50% of efficiency. Another man with a plan: I only JUST broke the hoses when I was taking it the Valve off, they were always on before that.

When should I do my first oil change on my pontiac G5 2007? - I bought a Pontiac G5 end of July this year. I got to 6000 kilometers today, oil life is still at 50 % ? Arent you supposed to change oil every 5000 kilomerters or or 3 months ? should i change it ASAP ? Thanks for the info, but does anyone have anwer as to why my Oil life meter still says 50 % ?? Also I though you had to wait longer for the first oil change?

Has anyone bought the new Pontiac G8 (the first 888)? Did you have to pay a dealer extra chg due to low inven - Bought one of the first 888 of the Pontiac G8 with all the bells and whistles. And due to only 888 being in production the dealer tacked on an additional $6000 premium. Only 12 are being delivered to each state.

How can I make my car faster? Has slow pickup. - I have a 1987 Pontiac 6000 sedan. I enjoy everything about the car with only one exception, it has terrible pickup speed. I drive to and from work on expressways and when needing to merge into traffic or when needing to change lanes, the gas pedal almost has to be floored to get any decent amount of pickup. What relatively inexpensive things can improve a cars horsepower? I'm leary about any type of "liquids" that you can buy over the counter and pour into your engine, as I've heard of those. Wanted to add that my car is fuel injected.

Used 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI worth to buy? - I was looking for a pontiac car and finally I found the 2000 Bonneville SSEI. I need to know if I am making the right decision in buying this used car! I took it to a car service and had it inspected by a specialist there and after doing full inspection on the car, he told me he wouldn't hesitate to buy it. It looks great and doesn't seem it was in any kind of accident. Has anyone owned this vehicle before and had problems with it? It costs $6000 (Taxes and fees already included) and he told me I could buy a full warranty from him, but that would cost extra. Is it worth to buy the car for that much? Thanks in advance.

in help in the next 1/2 hour if anyone is out there.? - I have a 1988 pontiac 6000 and need to change the ignition switch. I have an important dinner to attend with a grade school friend who will be moving out of state. My dad is buying the switch but does not know how to change it out. Can someone please give me step by step instructions?

Buy a Firebird Convertible Formula or keep old reliable? - I own a 98 Ford Contour and the car has been the best the past 3 years. Ive had no problems with it whatsoever. It has 103,000 miles on it. I came across a 97 Pontiac Firebird Formula Convertible online for $6000 with 87,000 miles. I want a sporty car but is it worth it? Im entering college now and live in MI
