HELLO Plymouth Sundance engine light issue!!!? - Here is my conundrum. I just bought this plymouth sundance. Runs nice, sounds good, no major problems but a weak battery. I take it to Autozone to test it, DIDDO, battery weak. we swap the battery out and when I go to restart the car I now have a check engine light on and takes a lot of turning over to start now. The dude does the onboard key switch test thing and its showing a code 22, 44, 55. Remember there was no issues before the battery swap. code 22 temp sensor, code 44, fj2 voltage at controller failer in the computer. code 55 problem with the distributer syncronization curcuit. I just dont know what they could of done to throw bad codes just by putting in a new battery. I have checked all the plugs. I did however find he must of bumped the temp plug and it was out and i put it back in, and the fan runs full time now. HELP HELP HELP I have also checked every connection around the battery and box, I have also disconnected the battery positive side and left off for 5 minutes to reset computer, still no effective change. I do notice it starts much easier cold. But not when warm.

1992 Plymouth Sundance defroster and A/C problem? - I bought a 1992 Plymouth Sundance last June. It's got a 2.2L 4 cylinder motor in it and it was a one owner car I bought from the original owner and it only had 83,000 miles on it when I bought it. It is a real nice little car and I haven't had any problems with it until just recently. The car runs real good and my only disappointment with it is that it doesn't have a more powerful motor and turning the A/C on makes it even less powerful. And it gets really awful gas mileage when the A/C is on. But I haven't been running the A/C since sometime in September and so that has not been a problem this fall. Until recently. The mornings have been a little cold lately and I have been using the defroster to clear the windshield and on cool days when it is raining I have to use the defroster to keep the windshield from fogging up and what I have discovered is that the A/C turns on when I turn on the defroster. I know that is normal on some cars and I also know that on most cars you can just unplug the A/C compressor pump to stop the A/C from coming on. But when I unplug the A/C compressor pump on this Plymouth Sundance then the defroster blower stops working. If I set the control on heat only the heater works fine and the blower runs fine when the A/C compressor pump is unplugged but if I set it on defrost or on heat/defrost blend the blower will not run. And if I pull the A/C fuse then the heater blower won't work either I called a dealer service department and asked if it was normal for the A/C to turn on with the defroster and they said that it is normal on this model. I also asked if there is some way they can stop the A/C from doing that which will still allow the defroster blower motor to work and they said no and said that is the way it is engineered and that there is nothing they can do to change that. I just can't believe that there is no way to work around this and I am ready to cut a wire or jump a wire if someone can tell me which wire to cut or jump. Does anyone know a way to stop the A/C from turning on with the defroster? I looked over the answers here and I would like to try unplugging that low pressure switch. The answer Kenney D gave will have to be the last thing I try. But I think I can do that. I just want to try that low pressure switch fifst if someone will tell me where it is.

Are Plymouth Sundance's nice cars? - I'm thinking about buying a 1990 Sundance 2dr 4cyl auto as a winter beater for $600. It only has 144,000 miles on it. I just need a reliable and economical little car to get me through the winter cause I don't want to drive my nice '78 El Camino during that time. Has anyone owned one before? What kind of economy can I expect from it? Thanks! Do they have Mitsubishi sourced engines? I know they make em' in 2.2 and 2.5 liter displacement (the 4cyl's). Lady, I'm looking to spend $600. 144,000 miles is not a lot for a 18 year old car.

'90 Plymouth, poor acceleration after timing belt change, air cuts off going up hill? - I have a 1990 Plymouth Sundance, bought it new 19 years ago, have maintained it mechanically and it's still in good shape, would not be afraid to take a very long trip in it (plus it's paid for, LOL!). I had to have the timing belt replaced recently. Since then, the car has shown poor acceleration, will barely get up a hill, plus when I go up a hill the air conditioner (which I had to use today, it was very warm in the South) stops blowing out the vents, it starts back when I get to the top of the hill. I'm going to take it back to the mechanic who worked on it, but I'd like to know if anyone here has any idea what might be going on with this so that I can be prepared when I take it back to him. Thanks! Following up, it's a 2.2 4-cylinder. Also, what do you mean by tooth off? Off the belt? (It should be new.) Following up again, the mechanic was supposed to have set the time, at least he had his timing light out when I went by to check on the car. Maybe he didn't get it quite right.

tire rim for plymouth sundance? - i drive a 1992 plymouth sundance and apparently i need a new tire rim for my right tire. i guess if i dont fix it soon it could mess up my transmission or something. my step dad is leaving it up to me to find one, but i need to know if theres certain sizes or something? can i order one online? buy one at the auto section of walmart? i really know very little about cars so anything you can tell me would be great. thanks. oh and last night i was letting my friend drive it which was stupid on my part because he took the curb really hard and im sure it got messed up more so the faster i can get one the better.

1993 Plymouth Sundance Duster 4-spd auto Transmission whines/doesn't move 3.0l v6? - It's a 1993 Sundance Duster, 3.0l V6, 4spd auto, I believe it's the A670, anyway, when put into any gear, it doesn't move unless you rev the engine up alot, then it clunks into gear as it idles down and whines pretty loud. It has fluid in it, I haven't changed it since I bought it a few months ago. I know about not using Dexron and all that. It doesn't leak any fluid. Is the tranny shot? If it is, and I can find one at a junk yard with low miles on it, what other vehicles used that tranny? Could I use, say an A670 out of a Caravan? Any help in diagnosing the problem and help on the interchange would be great.

I am buying my first manual tranny car and I am a rookie-any ideas how to learn it in a week? - The car is a 94 plymouth sundance duster and it has 150,000 on it-but the body is MINT-except that the ebrake is busted-I have to travel a steep hill to work-stop light halfway up the hill-I fret rolling back into the car behind me-I have been told the heel on brake-toe on gas technique but I still think about it a lot. PLEASE HELP! The ebrake on this car is foot operated and will be hard to use while driving-I am planning on fixing it so I can use it to park my car at night.

Did I get a good deal on this car? - I just recently bought an '88 Plymouth Sundance (yes, it's my first car). It has the turbo engine( I also don't know much about cars). It has a broken fuel line, The right brake brakes harder than the left one, The power steering doesn't work (but that might just be a matter of putting in new fluid), and has 123,000 miles. It has very little rust, to my surprise, but the overhead upholstery is coming down. I paid $100. Was this a good deal?

1989 Sundance sputtering & having difficulty accelarating...? - I just bought a used 1989 Plymouth Sundance. When I accelarate, the car has hardly any power. If I press too far down on the gas pedal, I lose power/accelaration. If I'm able to get it up to 45 mph (NOT easy to do) I hear a lot of sputtering. One person thinks it is an air-fuel-ratio problem. A couple of people have said that I need a catalytic converter. We took it to an auto shop and had a diagnostic run, but nothing came up since the engine light isn't on. Any ideas as to what this problem could be are greatly appreciated.

How to keep my car running smoothly? - I have a 1988 Plymouth Sundance and the people I bought it from disconected the turbo engine. She told me her husband cut a wire from preventing it to going into turbo, is this bad?
