HELLO 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera SL? - We have the opportunity to buy a 96 Oldsmobile Ciera SL. It only has 21,950 miles on it. This is actual. This is owned by an elderly couple who only drive it when they are here. They travel. The exterior is in mint condition. No dings, dents, or scratches. The rear seat looks like it was never used, and the front just as nice. The alternator was just replaced, the tires have little wear. I intend on taking this to our mechanic to look over with a fine tooth comb. But, I am curious as to what it is worth. I am wondering if he is asking to much. Please let me know what you think this should sell for. Thanks!

Help with a 96' oldsmobile ciera? - ok so i have been having problems with the alternator dieing every other week since i've gotten the car on the road. this is my 7th alternator in less than a year. most of em have been junkyard pieces, but i bought one from auto zone.. and that lasted two months. they all burn up inside... the copper wires turn black inside. last night me and my girlfriend were at the mall and on the way home... the car started acting like it was about to die like it does when the alternator dies. the charge battery light came on..... my dash went dim and when i apply my breaks the headlights and the dash dim and then go back to normal. the charge light stayed on for about a minute... then turned off for about 30 seconds....came on for a minute went off for 30 seconds..... this happened for about 15 minutes straight... then it went off..... and the dash got as bright as its ever been and the light hasnt come back on..... this is now about 12 hours later. what the hell is going on?

alternator troubles in a 96' oldsmobile ciera? - ok i was having a problem with the alternator in my car. i went through 5 alternator in the course of 6 months. i bought the first four from junkyards. The fifth was brand new from the auto zone near my house, i installed it around december 20th of 07. the problem with the first four was that the power steering pump was leaking onto the serpentine belt and the belt was pulling the fluid up into the alternator burning them out. i put the last alternator in cleaned the belts and surrounding area very thoroughly and put sealant in the power steering pump. worked until last night. car died just when i got to my girlfriends. i drove for an hour through mostly slush before i got to my gf's house. i checked the belt this morning and it is bone dry. area surrounding it is bone dry, but the alternator looks like it still burnt-out. what is happening? nope i have nothing extra in my car that takes electricity. normal radio which is unoften used. dome light idoes not turn on when i open car doors only thing is headlights stay on no matter what.. i cant turn them off.... other than that factory stuff also what is the voltage regulator?

How do I install a Motor Blower for a 1992 Oldsmobile Ciera? - Okay, so we bought this little dinky car and it doesn't have a motor blower in it for the heater. It was taken out by the previous owner for some reason. Anyway, I cannot figure out how the hell the thing goes in. It's on the passenger side of the engine up against the firewall, on the motor side of the glove compartment. I need 2 more inches to fit it in and I can't because the alternator, belts, and shocks are in the way, and no matter which way I turn it, it won't fit. WTF? Anyone famaliar with the installation of the motor blower?

Ok, which car would you buy, the Corsica or the Ciera? - The Chevy Corsica- 1996 176K no problems known $1300. The Oldsmobile Ciera SL-1995 86K no problems known $1550. Do Ciera's typically last longer than Corsica's? Or the other way around?

1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Fuel Filter Problem? - I recently replaced my fuel filter on this car, however, I can not get the new one I bought on without leaking. Its the type of fuel filter that clips onto the fuel line, like so (click on this link)->http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2006/07/pump-rr-12.jpg It looks like it clips on and snaps in. The thing the clip holds onto what looks like a circular rim. Again it snaps in, both the clip and the fuel filter line into the fuel line, however everytime I turn the ignition on. it leaks from that same spot. I bought two of these fuel filters and still, it leaks. (So i don't think it has to do with a bad "o" ring. The fuel line, where the fuel filter clicks onto, was rusted, so i sanded it off. Anyone got some ideas as to what might be wrong, or any alternatives? (Also.. I was thinking of maybe cutting part of the steel fuel line off, past the rim, then clamping the fuel filter line onto the fuel line. Might this work?)

Is the Oldsmobile brand a fairly cheap one to have repaired? - I realize there are other factors, but generally is the brand cheaper to fix? Im buying my friends old 94 cutless ciera to last me the rest of the year. Theres nothing wring with it but Im thinking down the road.
