Nissan Stanza Questions & Answers from Yahoo! Answers
HELLO What kind of a fuse would I use for the alarm on a 1992 Nissan Stanza? - I recently bought a 1992 Nissan Stanza and from what I understand, it has a factory alarm installed. I was told from the lady I bought it from that she had the fuse pulled from the car ever since it was almost brand new. I have the remote for it and it's never been used, and I'd like to give it a go to see if it works. It's just annoying of having the remote on my keys and it just does nothing. I believe the socket for the fuse is right next to the battery, but what kind of a fuse would it take? Not like that the car "really" has to have an alarm, as it is an old car, but I just want to make more use of the remote on my keychain.

My 90 nissan stanza has a few problems. Anyone help with a guestimate on pricing to get it fixed? - I have a 90 Nissan Stanza GXE that I bought in october from a guy around town for 1000 bucks, (which i looked up online the value with 250,000 miles and that's about how much it's worth.) ANYWAY, I'd like to get the problems fixed on the car and drive it for another couple months before I can get a new one, and then sell it for about the same price. Here's the problems, I have a power steering fluid leak. A BIG ONE. I need to refill it every 2-3 days almost. Also, there's a problem in the engine. I'll just describe it and see if anyone knows what it is, they can tell me about how much am I looking at to get this fixed. The engine started reving up to about 2 or 3 rpms in park at first. I took it to get my oil changed, they looked at it, and tightened a bolt that is connected to where the air goes into the engine and it seemed to fix it. But about 2 weeks later it was doing it again. I had a friend look at it and he said that the "flap wasn't opening enough to get the air in the engine" (continued) so then he went on to tell me to put some wd40 on the flap so it can open. I did that, and it seemed to get better. But it's still acting weird. It's like the engine is coughing. When I'm driving, it won't shift into lower gears when it's supposed to (hence why I think the transmission is slipping). going up a steep hill, it will go 15mph. While at a gas station, I pooped the hood to look at it myself, and a cord had come out of it's snap holder. I put it back in, cranked it up, and the engine QUICKLY reved up to 7. I turned off the engine and put the cord back where I found it. PLEASE HELP! How much will this cost to fix???? Thanks so much in advance!

nissan stanza? - I just recently bought a used 1991 Stanza. There is a switch located on the center console, inbetween the parking brake and the cup holder/coin collector. I can't find a manual or a website that has parts on it. I'm curious as to what the function of this button is.

Help with a 91 Nissan Stanza? - My nissan stanza is not the best running car on the planet but it was bought to be a commuter car. The car doesn't run very well going up hills and feels like it strains to go over 55 mph. On monday I noticed the digital clock was off and the lights where dimmer than usual inside the car. On the way home, it started to die slowly. The lights completely dimmed out and the car died on the side of the road. My boyfriend tried to jump the car, which it started right up when connected to the jumper cables. It would quickly die when disconnected. Could this be an alternator issue? Help I'm super broke and want to make sure we replace the right part. If it is an alternator, is it something we can do from home? I've heard a bunch of people tell me its fairly easy to fix. Thoughts?

Is there such a thing as a interference motor? - I am looking to buy a 2001 Nissan Stanza. When I took it to the only mechnic I know. He stated the Stanza has a Interference motor. He explained that the timing belt shold be changed every 60,000 miles. If it is not changed and the timing belt goes out the motor runs the risk of locking up. The Stanza has 100,000 miles on it. The mechanic says he can change the belt for $300. A aquantice of mine, claims to know a little about cars. He told me there is no such thing as a interference motor. My dillema is, I do not know either of them enough to take there word for it.

I was driving my 1991 Nissan Stanza, and suddenly the accelerator went limp...? - It had no give, and I couldn't accelerate unless I press the pedal hard to the floorboard. It's a lot slower accelerating now, and none of the mechanics I've talked to know whats wrong. The oil, and power steering fluid were just changed (I actually just bought this car a couple days ago, it was checked out before I bought it and was fine), It has a new battery, and I was told the fuel filter and air filter are fine. If anyone can point me in the right direction about what's wrong, and let me know how much it'll cost to fix it, please let me know. I got this car because it checked out okay by my mechanic and I could afford it. Buying a different car is not an option.
