HELLO The wipers on my 1994 Mercury Tracer won't work......???? - I just bought a used 1994 Mercury Tracer and the wipers won't work. The Fuse in it was bad so we changed that but they still won't work. Any idea on what could be wrong or how much it will cost to get fixed. I am a single mom and know nothing about cars. Any ideas would be appreciated THANKS

How & where to check transaxle (Tranny?) oil ?, on a 1989 Mercury Tracer compact stationwagon? - I bought this 1989 four cyclinder mercury Tracer compact as a gas saver. I have the original maintenace booklet for this vehicle. But no where does it show the location of a dip stick to check the transaxle oil or how or what the needed procedure is ? So the question is where is the location in or on the engine for checking Transaxle oil & maintinance ? Thank You. It is a standard automatic

What will cause the alternator belt to keep busting on a 1994 Mercury Tracer? - I am looking to buy a car. I found a 1994 Mercury Tracer but the owner says it keeps busting the alternator belt every 30 miles or so. At the price she is asking I can afford a few hundred dollars for repairs but if this is something major I would rather back off. I'd really appreciate some quick answers. If I am going to get the car I have to go in the morning.

Should i buy a Mercury Tracer sedan, 4 door..? - it has 132k miles. It seems like a good deal, are there any major problems that i will end up spending a lot of money on? btw this will be my first car, im 16 and just need any car that gets me places. does anyone also know how fast this vehicle goes? Is it worth buyin a '93 Mercury Tracer for 750 with 132k on it? - I am looking to buy a car....I can only afford older used models. One of which is a 1993 Mercury Tracer for $750 Automatic. I am also looking at Saturns and Hondas. Please let me know what your take is on this. Especially if you have owned or personal experience with a Mercury Tracer. Thank you, very much.

How can I sell my 99 Mercury Tracer (running but not driveable) for the largest amount possible? Junk Yard? - Well, my car blew a headgasket and now has a rod knock, the exterior and rest of the motor are in pretty good shape. I want to sell it, maybe somebody can use it for parts, but I don't know where to go. A friend recommended Craig's list, but I'd like to know if there are more options. I also have a 90 Toyota Celica that I can sell for parts as well. Any ideas to how I can get the most money out of these cars? I need as much cash as I can get so that I can buy a new car, one that's driveable at least. Thanks!

Do you think a 1997 Mercury Tracer for $1000 is a good deal? - It has 129,000 miles, air condition needs work and needs 2 new brakes. Everything else is in excellent condition and service up to date. A one owner car, easy miles and is loaded. The blue book rates it around $2,500 with air condition not working. My son who wants to buy it is handy and will fix the brakes and air conditioner. He hopes to get about three years out of it. This relative just wants to get red of it and can be trusted. What do you think?

1998 Escort ZX2 Engine versus 1998 Mercury Tracer Engine? - Can anyone tell me if a majority of the engine parts from a 1998 tracer will fit a 1998 escort ZX2? We have the opportunity to buy a wrecked Tracer for a good price and the engine is in great condition in the wrecked vehicle. we are looking to extract things like the starter, the Air conditioning system, possibly the catalytic converter, door lock actuators, and possibly other components. I have not found a decent resource on the web at this point that can tell me if the engine components would be interchangeable with the two engines. thanks for any helpful replies. the engine in the 1998 escort has the zx2 motor. i am really not sure about the tracer as it is not in a salvage yard and someone is selling it directly.
