HELLO I want to buy a new Mazda mx-5 Miata, but when is the best time to buy? - I want a 2008 model. And I'm looking to buy around February. How long do they generally keep the older models around before they clear out the majority to allow room for the newer ones? I for some reason keep thinking that if I wait until March or April I won't be able to get my hands on a 2008. I want to get the best deal. Tips?

How do I check my cam belt? Mazda Miata / MX-5? - The car has done 60'000miles.# 1989 mazda Miata or Mx-5. When I bought the cat I didnt know anything about the car. The guy who sold it to me pointed at the power steering belt and said 'look, its got a brand new cam belt'. Unfortunately I didn't know any different. I can see where the main engine block has a top section with bolts round it. I dont want to just go unscrewing things. I have been told that changing a cam belt is quite a bit of work, so I dont want to pay out if it doesn't need replacing, or, i can do it myself. Thank you for your answer. However, I mainly want to know how I check the cam belt (timing belt) 'needs' replacing. I dont want to take it to a garage as they will definitely say that it needs replacing to get more money. Wow - no one is really reading the question are they? All i wanted to know was how to check if it needs doing or not. The 2nd answer did answer my question but if a very round about way. 'The back "smooth" side of a worn cam-belt will be shiny.' - thank you, thats all i needed to know.

How much is a 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata worth? - It has 190,000 mi. fairly, average condition. I know they should cost around $800-1000 but this car has got a new transmission, headers, and clutch, as well as other repairs which all cost at least $1000+. So is it worth buying for $1,800?
