Any KIA Amanti owners out there? - I want to buy my mom who is in her late 60's a new or newer used car. I like the look of the KIA Amanti and they seem to be reasonably priced too. What is there consumer rating? Does any one know of a website (free - not consumerreports.com, they charge for membership) that can give me some testimonials from real owners? I have a Kia Amanti and I am stuck with it. Is it stupid to want to deck it out..to make it appear more my age? - alright i managed to make the dumbest decision of my life and buy a car and get upside down by trading it in for another car after dropping 2500$ into fixing a head gasket..i got pissed and traded it in when it had another 500$ problem a week later...thats wouldnt have been so bad had i kept that turboed gas saving car..but the part that really blows gaskets...is that i hate the car i traded it in for....its a gas pig V6 and looks like something my grandfather would drive Heres the link for the pic on wikimedia http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a3/Kia_Amanti_2005.jpg Anyway i was thinking of painting it a solid color so the retarded silver trim is the same color as the car grill and all...i was going to do all black and tint the windows and get Lamin-x film covers for the lights...but not so sure about that..also there are some door dings and scratches i needed to fix anyway from the previous owner so i figured it would be cheaper to just to paint it all..its 250$ per panel for dings...and there are dings onlike 4 panels..go figure.. Basically i am upside down to the point that sure i could pay it down and sell it..but i am going to lose a lot more money by startin over new payments on another car...basically i am going to lose 10 grand plus what i lost on my other car..yeah..i kno stupid....how the heck did a finance freak like me manage to get upside down. Anyway..does anyone else know of anyone deckin out an amanti or have pics of one so i can see what it looks like..i actually think it could look pretty cool and kinda uncommon....so opinions would really kick ass right now..i am really down about the loss and yes i know that i am just adding another expense..but seriously if i am gonna be stuck with this car for years...i might as well love it, right..tho theres not much i can do about the 11mpg in town mileage and the enormous gas tank thats always starving... if i bought a used car and i seen on carfax its still coverd by factory warranty can i still use that warranty - i bought a 2005 kia amanti but the dealer didnt tell me it still had a factory warranty on it. i checked it out on carfax and i still have a powertrain warranty for another 50 000 mi. and if my tranny was to go out or something i was wondering if i could go to a kia dealership and still use that warranty even though i purchased the car through another dealership?

Thanks! well no..i meant since i might as well keep it now til i run it to the ground....why not at least make it mine..i am not broke out of my mind..i work 2 full time jobs and will have what was meant to be a 6 year loan paid off in one year...but i just am saying...why not deck it out since i have to keep it... at least then i would like driving it minus the crap gas mileage Its just so amazing how people come on here and give absolutely no help other than to be negative....alright I already got myself in a bind..what i am asking is if you were stuck with something FOR EXAMPLE...say you bought a house and it wasnt what you thought..would you fix it up or sell it for a huge loss...i just thought if i am stuck with it...i might as well make it mine and personalize...actual helpful opinions would be nice instead of rude remarks....

Have Kias from the last 2 years been more reliable? - My dad is telling me to at least look at a few, and says he has not had any problems with his Amanti in the 2 years he's had it. He bought it brand new, and that's what he's recommending to me, to buy a brand new Kia.

Need advice on selling or keeping this car...? - I dated a guy for 3 years and we bought a car under my name that HE wanted a 2005 Kia Amanti...at the time he told he it was a great car for the price....it was like 13,000$ and then i took a 1000$ loss on my old car...and they told me i had to buy a warranty too to get what i wanted out of my old car...so after warranty and tax the grand total was 19000$-ish...and with interest for 6 years it would be 24 grand total... I hate this car...i mean its reliable which is good...but outside of that the ONLY thing i like about it is that it has a great sound system....i see it it reminds me of my ex...it would be the perfect car for me if I was 70...it just looks ugly to me...i figure if i am payin that much for a car I should love it....is that stupid? Well the payoff on it now is 17 grand...I am tryin to figure out how much it would sell for...I am seein as low as 7000 and as high as 11,000 IF I am lucky considering mine has some dings that were there before i bought it that i didnt care about but other people may... I want to just pay it down to 10..and sell it for the balance of 10grand...but that would be taking almost a 10thousand $ loss....is that worth it..what should I do..financially should i just keep the damn thing and live with hating the way it looks...the insurance is also like 183 a month..and the gas mileage averages 18mpg....to me that monthly costs about 700$...so opinions please would be appreciated!
