HELLO I am considering buying a used 2001 Jaguar XKR Silverstone Edition model with $19K miles. Any advice for me? - Where can I research owners feedback, ownership costs, reliability,etc. I have test driven a 2001 XKR and know I like it, now I want to be at least alittle prepared...

Would i be a fool to a buy a used Jaguar XKR instead of something more reliable, cheap and sensible? - I saw one this afternoon and it was beautiful. however, they're expensive in almost every respect, somewhat unreliable and hardly practical. for the same price i could get a VW Golf (probably a GTI) or a BMW 3 series, something my girlfriend would perhaps not kill me for buying. but, its got a supercharged V8... Would you get a Jaguar XK? - Yea, I'm thinking of buying a Jaguar XK, a 2000 model XKR with 109,000 miles approx. The guy got a new throttle throttle body, new injectors, new tires, and a tune up 2 months ago. The only problem is 2 little holes in the black leather, which would cost 600 dollars to get redone. The car is 11,000 dollars. Or go for a 2002 XK8 with 73,000 miles approx. for around 16,000 dollars thats fully loaded with nav. system, park assistance, and a ton of other amenities. They are both convertibles, so which one would be best? If yes, how much should I negotiate the price down to?

Jaguar owners - help!!!? - I am looking at buying a xk8 or xkr - I think 2001 or newer. I also intend of travelling overseas and the car could sit undriven for 6 to 8 months a year. What is the best way to ensure a car does not deteriorate? Suggestions regarding placing on chocks? disconnecting battery? Particular oil change requirements for storage? What do you think is best for a car sitting idle for that period of time? I wish to be able to return from travels and enjoy the car without too much trouble
