Is buying a used honda insight a good buy? - I have been researching the insight, 2000-20006 models, and all the used ones on the market seem WAY over their blue book and edmunds value. Most at least 4 thousand dollars over... is this because of the rising gas prices so they are in high demand (60-70 mpg..)? Or because thats what the cars are actually worth? I feel like I would be over paying big time if I bought if off a private party for these kinds of prices..

Brittni want to buy a car that gets excellent gas mileage. She is trying to decide between a Honda Insight ? - & a Honda Civic Hybird. Honda Insight city 57, Hwy 56, Civic city 45, Hwy 51. She likes the Civic better, but the insights gas mileage is tempting. Assuming she drives 12,000 miles a year & about 60% of her miles are city, how much more gas would she use per year in the Civic. If gas costs $2.78 per gallon, how much more will she spend on the Civic?

Real gas mileage for Toyota Prius and Honda Insight? - I'm thinking of buying either a Prius or an Insight, because these are the hybrids that supposedly get the best gas mileages. I know what the EPA estimates are for their gas mileage, and I also know those estimate can be very far from reality. Any one know what these cars really get for gas mileage?

Should I buy the Toyota Prius of Honda insight? - Should I purchase the Prius or Insight? I like the price of the insight but I do not like how it doesn't support an EV button (I have heard though that you CAN operate it in EV mode in low speeds). I want the closest thing to an electric vehicle. I do also like the Civic Hybrid but the Charge/assist meter on it is too far up on the instrument cluster for me. Should I pay the extra money for the 3rd generation Prius ($22,400) or go with the 2nd generation Honda Insight ($19,800)? I will not buy American cars, I will only buy Japanese cars due to their quality, MPG, small sizes, technology, and lean towards alternative energy.
