Where is the ECM on a 1992 Geo Storm? - Hey guys, I just got a 1992 Geo Storm. I was looking into buying a performance chip for it but I can't find the ECM. If I were to buy another ECM (Performance), would it make a difference to my car or is it only the chip? What is the difference between an ECM and an ECU. I want to add performance but I only can afford a performance ECM. What do I do? Do I have to buy a chip as well, or will the new ECM do it?

Should I buy a 92 Geo Storm? - 92 Geo Storm. Should I buy it? 800 dollars, needs 2 new tires and a new high beam headlight. Its kinda funny. what do the electronics of the steering column for a 1991 geo storm consist of? - I have a 1991 Geo Storm. It's been out of commission for a couple years and my mother gave it to me and my boyfriend to fix and drive. My step dad says that the problem with the car is the steering column. I bought a steering column and my step dad proceeded to tell me that I need the electronics with the steering column, this leads up to my question.... what do the electronics of the steering column for my car consist of?

i want to buy a geo storm or some car like that on craigslist.there are very different prices on the cars? - that have almost the exact same head line.. I am 15 right now and i want to take drivers ed over the summer, i was wondering what car i should get the cheap ones that say they dont have problems or the more expensive ones because i dont really know their reason for putting it at that price, the other thing that i am worried about is insurance, which would mean that i would have to get a job which i dont want but i do want to get a car more then dont want a job... SO my question is what prices should i trust on the cars what insurance company is the cheapest and whats a well paying job that has flexible hours....oh also if you want to look at the cars that i was looking at go to craigslist type in geo storm, and the area is seattle-tacoma

1990 Geo Storm Side Mirrors...Where do you find them? - I have recently bought a 1990 Geo Storm, However it is missing the passenger side mirror (housing and all is gone). I have looked all over the net trying to find some .All I have found is the mirror glass itself ,replacement. I need the whole housing and all. Dose anyone have any information as where to find them. Or is there other models I can interchange them out with. I'm not picky about them being stock as long as they fit. And it would not matter if they were power versions or manually operated. Thank you

geo storm ticks? - we bought a 1990 geo storm gsi 1.6L DOHC from a neighbor of ours.... it ticked really loud from the time we bought it over a year ago.... its not a bunch of ticks, it changes with engine speed... but a constant and steady tick tick tick tick tick.. i was told it was the valve train, we had a complete head job done it new valves, seals,lifters. and new head gasket set..... upon reinstalling the sound has not changed nor gone.... when you rev the engine the ticking kinda fades with the engine noise but returns very loud at idle.....ive head rod bearings and main bearings before and this doesnt seem like that..... is a wrist pin possible.... anyone know if this uses floating wrist pins or are they pressed??? thanks

My 92 Geo Storm broke down, and now it won't start.? - I just bought a 1992 Geo Storm for $700. They said it just needed a tune up, so I took it to a mechanic to get one, but he said it needed two new fuel injectors. So I paid 350 to get new fuel injectors. Even after I did that, it was trying to stall when I pushed the brake pedal, then when I'd push the gas pedal sometimes it wouldn't catch, it would just make a noise and keep decelerating. It also has a leak in the radiator, but it wasn't running hot when it broke down. I was going up a hill, and I had the gas pedal almost on the floor and it was still decelerating until it finally stalled. It won't crank, but it's not clicking. When we lifted the hood the engine was smoking, and one of the wires for one of the cylinders was off, but the oil is still black so I know I didn't blow the head gasket. Help? And it sat for around a year with the gas its running on in it. No bubbles in the oil, so that's not it. How much would a vacuum leak cost to fix? Cosmetically the car is perfect. The body of it is fine. If I can fix it without sinking thousands into it it's worth it to me. The lights come on, the hazards stayed on the whole time we were broken down.
