HELLO Buying a 1998 Ford escort with 134,000 miles anyone know top mileage for this kind of car? - Hi I am considering buying a 1998 Ford Escort with 134000 miles. Does anyone know how reliable these cars are and what kind of life they have as far as mileage. For example a nissan altima i've been told can run well until its into the 300,000 any info on how long a 1998 Ford Escort can go before it falls apart?

What can i do about my Ford Escort Alternator malfunction? - About 4 weeks ago, I bought a 1999 Ford Escort that was in great shape, and it has been great on mileage and nning in general. All of sudden, over the last couple of days, my car has been stopping wheniever i hit the brake, and the battery signal lights up, and i understand this as the battery life being drained. I would like to know, is there anything that I can do to make my alternator function better? Am i not allowed to drive it until i get it replaced? If i can drive it, tips on how to drive safe with it? Thanks a lot.

How do I increase idle speed on my Ford Escort? - I recently bought a used Ford Escort for my daughter and at stops the car dies because the idle is so low. I called the seller and he told me that I just had to increase the idle speed. But how do I do that? Thanks The Escort is a 1999. When I talked to the previous owner he told me that he lowered the idle by turning something, can't I just turn it up to increase the idle?
