I need to buy a good, dependable used car like the 1994 Dodge Spirit I drove for 7 years.? - The Dodge Spirit needed minimal repairs. Though the car died at 200,000 miles, the yearly maintenance cost was about $200 plus oil changes. Any suggestions for a dependable car like the Dodge Spirit? Don't care if it is American made.

1995 Dodge spirit brake problems? - I just bought a 95 Dodge Spirit, and just today I started smelling the brakes getting really hot. I am going to replace them, but I'm afraid that they're sticking. I'm not sure what I need to do to make sure that they're not going to continue to stick. Before I bought the car it sat for a while so I just hope I haven't gotten myself into something bigger than this? Any help?

My 1991 Dodge Spirit will not start. It turns over and tries to catch but it won't. Is it my battery? - My car is obviously a piece of junk, and I have been having issues starting it. After I first bought it, it wouldn't start for 4 days,and I had to boost it to get it going. Again, it wouldn't start today either. It turns over, it just won't catch. My battery has been causing me issues for a while, so I am assuming it has something to do with that, but what else could it be?

Some 1991 Dodge Spirit questions? - Ok, I'm in college and my parents just bought me a 1991 Dodge Spirit, it's a V6 3.0L with a 4-Speed Automatic. I'm in a completely different state for college so I have not seen the car and they intend to drive the car down to me. So my questions are as follows; 1) What are the most common issues with this kind of car? 2) What is the best way to prevent these problems? 3) Is the transmission equipped with overdrive (Heard yes and no)? 4) What is the fuel economy (Kelly Blue Book only gave that for the 4-Cylinders)? My Dodge Spirit is making a grinding noise while accelerating until about 10 mph, what could be wrong? - Today while I was driving I noticed that my car began to hesitate when accelerating from a dead stop. Afer a while it became apparent that there was a grinding sound. It only does it up until about 10 mph before it accelerates as it always has... I don't want to put anymore money into this car than I have to as I will be buying a new vehicle this spring, but I need to keep it running... I haven't checked the fluid level, could it just be low?? Can someone give me a little advice as to what I should do?
